The Project

The breif from the client was to design an innovative solution using rapid deployment Camp Covers to completely cover a remote mining camp with high rainfall located in the highlands of Papua New Guinea. The covers had to create a dry and mould free environment over accommodation and recreational areas for the mining personnel.

UFS designed the Camp covers with the following design parameters and key elements

• Rapid deployment and fast installation
• Camp containers had to provide the foundation for the structures without modification
• Shipping methods & logistics had to encompass movement from PNG ports to the highlands by helicopter
• To be relocatable
• Provide a completely dry environment for accommodation

The covers provide the ideal solution against the high rainfall and remoteness of the location and UFS have been breifed on a second camp in another PNG highlands region to be delivered.
